Akcja filmu dzieje się gdzieś w przyszłości. Bohaterem filmu jest nastoletni Alex De Large (w tej roli Malcolm McDowell), który pochodzi z dobrego domu i jest liderem gangu wyrostków. Niestety w grupie dochodzi do nieporozumień pomiędzy chłopakami, którzy postanawiają się pozbyć Alexa. Po dokonaniu zbrodni uciekają i pozostawiają bohatera policji na gorącym uczynku. Alex zostaje schwytany i skazany na 14 lat za zabójstwo. W więzieniu przechodzi przemianę, staje się gorliwym katolikiem i przydupasem więziennego księdza. Po odsiedzeniu dwóch lat kary Alex postanawia wyść na wolność,ale... musi się poddać nowatorskiej terapii psychologicznej. Zostaje on przeniesiony z więzienia do jednego z instytytów, gdzie puszczają Alexowi filmy pełne scen przemocy. Niestety chłopak musi je oglądać, ponieważ rozszerzyli mu powieki tak, że nie mógł zamknąć oczu, ani odwrócić wzroku. Poprzez tą filmową "terapię" Alex nabiera wstrętu do przemocy i ma już dość. Po takim praniu mózgu Alex wraca do społeczeństwa jako odmieniony obywatel. Wkrótce okazuje się, że ofiary Alexa nie zapomniały o nim i przygotowały mu zemstę. Alex spotyka też swoich kompanów z bandy, którzy teraz są... policjantami. Oczywiście dawni "koledzy" Alexa nie szczędzą przemocy na swoim dawnym liderze. W końcu Alex nie wytrzymuje presji i postanawia popełnić samobójstwo poprzez skok z okna, ale niestety przeżywa upadek i trafia do szpitala.

Dużo słyszałem o tym filmie, dlatego postanowiłem go obejrzeć. Z początku film mi się nie spodobał, ale a biegiem akcji coraz bardziej mnie wciągał. Niestety przy pierwszej projekcji musiałem przerwać oglądanie filmu nie z mojej winy Sad

Sam film w wielu krajach nie został dopuszczony do projekcji, a tam gdzie był dopuszczony do projekcji to został ostro ocenzurowany. Dałbym głowę, że 35 lat temu te sceny gorszyły. Teraz też gorszą widza, ale chyba nie tak, jak kiedyś... Sceny przestępstw jakich dokonuje banda Alexa to istny majstersztyk. Nie brakuje w nich groteski, a także baletowej choerografii. A przy wszystkich przestępstwach towarzyszą fragmenty 9 Symfonii Ludwika van Bethovena, a podczas sceny gwałtu Alex śpiewa przebój znany z filmu "Deszczowa Piosenka" - "I'm Singin In The Rain" autorstwa Arthura Freeda i Nancia Herb Browna. Podczas dokonywania scen przemocy Alex tańczy i śpiewa. Nie wiem czemu przemoc w tym filmie została pokazana w tak specyficzny sposób. Jedna moja rada. Film należy oglądać samemu w skupieniu, najlepiej wieczorem ponieważ jest w nim dużo ciemnych scen. Jeśli ktoś Ci przeszkadza w oglądaniu filmu swoim gadaniem, lub komentarzami, to poproś aby opuścił pokój, albo aby (brzydko mówiąc) się zamknął. Po prostu trzeba ten film oglądać wypoczętym i w skupieniu, bo w innym przypadku jest to dupa zbita, a nie oglądanie.
